Autism is a condition which arises from unusual neurological development. Though there are many questions about autism development its causes and initiation but few evidences prove that in autistics, neurological differences is present right from the birth. However the behaviors that help in the diagnosis of autism do not show till the age of three years.
There are some theories about the cause of the autism, some evidences showing genetic factor in autism, few suggestions point out sensory integration as cause of autism and few said that immune system dysfunctions is the cause of autism, but there is no clear cause.
Autism is now more commonly known as Autism Spectrum Disorder. The behaviors that apt to diagnose autism are social interaction, poor communication and language development and imaginations.
It is an old belief that autism is a behavioral disorder but according to the new belief, autism is the developmental consequence of brain that made programmed to work differently. The results of this belief concentrate on providing such physical and social environment that provide the differences and facilitates the patients learning and better quality of life.
Many researchers are trying to find out the relation between genetic with autism. It is a complicated process, according to the researchers as it involves the genetic crossover during synapses and many genes are responsible for the condition.
If a family already has a child with autism, the chances are high that the next child will also develop the condition. There is no cure of autism, but the researchers have developed such techniques that can help the children to learn more and interact with the society as normal children.
