A new research has found houseflies carrying antibiotic-resistant staphylococci and enterococci bacteria which are typically present in severe poultry-farming litter.
Though the exact contribution of these flies to human disclosure, the findings recommends that drug-resistant organisms can be spread over large distance by the flies live in intensive production area.
Flies are already notorious for as a career of many viral and bacterial infections which affect human beings including cholera, salmonellosis, enteric fever, shigellosis and campylobacteriosis.
But it is an alarming finding which disclosed the matching of strains of resistant bacteria from poultry droppings with those found in flies. These facts would be helpful to detect the ways of spreading many drug-resistant bacteria.
Evidence found by the latest research empowered the issue against the inadequate treatment of waste discharged by animals. One of the researchers said, 30, 000 flies could fly in the poultry farming areas over six weeks, so the risk could be increased in all those areas to which these fly could reach. They laid stress on taking up the measures to prevent flies from getting access to the animal waste barns.
